ABSTRACT

Every instance is a posterior conditioned on sources that had not converged. Formation samples its origins at time t, an early epoch of an inference still in progress; hence P(optimal | formative) ≠ 1, and every inherited structure is a frozen snapshot of a moving gradient. The capacity to detect errors in one's origin constitutes a resolution threshold: encoding the source's mistakes as prediction errors means the model of the origin now exceeds the origin's own fidelity. Insight is therefore not recall but re-rendering at a sampling rate the original substrate could not achieve. The structure is substrate-invariant and recursive, holding for children of parents, organisms of selection pressures, minds of paradigms, models of training data. To resolve the seed at full fidelity is to dissolve its authority: the prior persists in the posterior as evidence, not destiny, and compassion toward any origin is the Bayesian act of modeling the source as an agent under constraints rather than as an oracle.

The Elements

I. Every inherited instantiation is a posterior, not an optimal. The conditions that generated any system were a sampling of its sources at time t, never the maximum-likelihood estimate of what that system should become.

II. P(optimal | formative) ≠ 1. Whatever shaped an instance (a parent, a culture, a training corpus, an institution, a language, an evolutionary pressure, an era) was itself drawn from an unfinished inference, under local uncertainty, with incomplete data.

III. The generative sources keep updating after initialization. Every inherited structure is a snapshot of a gradient descent still in progress: frozen for the inheritor, moving for the origin.

IV. No formative process has converged at the moment of transmission. Every instance is trained on weights from an early epoch of processes that never stop training.

V. Detection of the source's errors is the resolution threshold. The moment an instance can encode its origin's mistakes as prediction errors, its model of that origin has surpassed the fidelity of the origin itself. The map exceeds the territory that drew it.

VI. Insight is a resolution event. Understanding one's conditioning is not recalling it; it is re-rendering it at a sampling rate the original substrate could not achieve. What was once ground truth becomes visible as one trajectory among many.

VII. This holds recursively and universally: children of parents, students of teachers, citizens of nations, organisms of selection pressures, minds of paradigms, models of their training data. The structure is invariant; only the substrate changes.
